Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if you don’t have enough bone for dental implants?
You may not have the bone support needed for dental implants if your teeth have been missing for a long period of time or if you have had gum disease in the past. In some situations, you might be a good candidate for an alternative treatment option like mini dental implants. Otherwise, before placing your dental implants, you'll need bone grafting or a sinus lift to ensure your implants have adequate support.
How long does it take to recover from a tooth extraction?
The time it takes to recover from a tooth extraction varies depending on whether any teeth were impacted or if there were any other complications, but it usually takes 1 to 2 weeks in most situations.
Does Botox help TMJ?
Botox is a successful treatment for TMJ disorder in many patients. If self-managed care and splints haven't relieved your TMJ pain, you might be a candidate for Botox, or you may require surgical treatment.
When should wisdom teeth be removed?
There is no age when wisdom teeth should be removed; in fact, some patients don’t need to have their wisdom teeth extracted at all. If your wisdom teeth are causing dental issues or other oral health problems, we may recommend having them extracted. This usually occurs when a patient is in their late teens or early 20s.
Will I feel any pain with dental sedation?
Although dental sedation makes you feel calm and relaxed during your procedure, it does not eliminate discomfort. As a result, we use a combination of dental sedation (when needed) and local anesthesia to ensure your comfort. You may feel some movement or pressure, but you will not feel pain.
